Gregg grew up just down the road from Columbia, in Boonville; at first, there were three sisters, and later on, two half brothers joined the mix. He was a member of the last graduating class of Laura Speed Elliott High School (once Gregg graduated, they knew it could never get any better, and Laura Speed Elliott became a middle school).
Growing up, Gregg says that one of his defining characteristics was being a sore loser. “I was just so competitive,” he said, kind of sheepishly. “And I still am. I’m not proud of it, but isn’t winning so much better than losing? That’s why I was Salesman of the Month for every month in 2013.”
Gregg attended Hannibal Lagrange College (now University), in Hannibal, MO. He got his degree in theology.
Recently, Gregg Completed the “Authentic Manhood” program, hosted by The Business Advantage, a local business group for Christian men. “I’m pretty proud of that,” he said. “I keep it on my desk as a reminder of how I want to do business.”
